Anti Wrinkle Injections
Botox & Dysport
Neurotoxin injection for the treatment of facial wrinkles is today one of the most frequently performed cosmetic procedures.
Treatment of Crows' feet and frown lines are what we call dynamic wrinkles. They occur from repeated muscle movements and facial expressions. When we're young, our supportive collagen and elastin networks allow our skin to rebound from our facial expressions without a trace. Wrinkles are formed by dermal atrophy and repetitive contraction of underlying facial musculature
Anti-wrinkle injection work to reduce the action of muscles and provide relaxation of specific muscles. It provides a reduction in wrinkles while providing a gentle lift resulting in a smooth, refreshed appearance.
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used as a preventive measure at an earlier age, '20s-'30s or a line reduction treatment at an older age. Using the perfect amount will allow you to have your natural facial look.
Consultation and Procedure
Facial areas of concern are assessed by the physician and patient simultaneously during the consultation. Asymmetries such as uneven eyebrow height and eye aperture are identified. Areas are prioritized and treatment options discussed, including anticipated results.
Usually, the entire consultation and treatment process can be completed within 45-60 min.
Our Doctor or Specialist will take the necessary time to carefully understand and review your unique facial anatomy, while thoroughly discussing any treatments goals and concerns to reach your desired outcomes. You and the specialist will do a final review of what was discussed including dosage amount, followed by informed consent.
The targeted glabellar complex muscles can be identified by having the patient actively frown, and injections are placed into the contracted muscles
The specialist will then carefully identify and mark the areas to be treated.
If pain or discomfort is experienced, the specialist will use ice or numbing cream to numb the concerned area
The specialist will use an ultra-fine needle to inject the Neurotoxin directly into the facial muscles. One to three injections may be needed to target that muscle.
Localized burning or stinging sensation during injection is common and usually resolves within a few minutes
Immediately after your treatment, you will have some mild redness and mild swelling that can last for up to 30 minutes.
Partial reduction in the function of the targeted glabellar complex muscles is seen by the third day after botulinum toxin injection, with maximal reduction visible two weeks after injection
How Long Will It Last?
Most treatments will last for about 3-4 months. After multiple treatments, the muscles start to become smaller. It's common for treatments to last longer, using less Neurotoxin on repeat treatments. We recommend re-treating every 3-3.5 months to maintain your beautiful results.
Prevention of wrinkles by starting Neurotoxin in your 20s and 30s will prevent hard fixed wrinkles from forming. Wrinkle prevention early will help the treatments last longer and need less Neurotoxin like Botox.
